Andean Parliament Expresses ‘Full Support’ for Morocco’s Autonomy Plan
6/1/2018

The Andean Parliament, which met in the Chilean city of Pucón (south), has unanimously expressed its "full support" for the autonomy plan presented by the Kingdom of Morocco as a solution to the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara.

The Andean Parliament mentioned, in this regard, the UN Security Council resolution 1754, adopted on 30 April 2007, which deemed the Moroccan initiative as "serious and credible", the ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said Thursday in a statement.

Created on October 25, 1979 in La Paz (Bolivia), the Andean Parliament brings together MPs from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile.

Morocco, Spain, Mexico and Panama are observer members of the Andean Parliament.
