Morocco celebrates Friday the 34th anniversary of the glorious green march, an event of historic significance which is a reference and unique approach in the sense that it allowed the liberation of the inhabitants of the Kingdom’s southern provinces of the yoke of Spanish colonization by peaceful means.
The Foreign Office minister in charge of Middle East and North Africa, Mr Ivan Lewis, said Tuesday in Casablanca, that his country welcomes the Moroccan autonomy initiative in the Sahara, and supports the efforts made by the envoy of the Secretary General of the UN in charge of the Sahara issue.
The U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said, here on Monday, that there is no change in the United States' position over Morocco's autonomy initiative for the Sahara.
The debate caravan which will be held from November 6 to December 25 in different cities of the Kingdom around autonomy in the Moroccan Sahara, aims to broaden the debate between the various components of society on the goals of this innovative, announced Wednesday night in Casablanca.
Morocco endeavours to bring about all the conditions of stability and development in its southern provinces, said, on Tuesday in the southern city of Dakhla, Morocco's Minister of the Interior.
