The Council of the European Union, convened Thursday in Brussels, adopted the fisheries agreement with Morocco, said a European source.

Elected officials and actors from the southern provinces of the Kingdom called on the European Parliament on Tuesday to adopt fisheries and agriculture agreements between Morocco and the European Union (EU), given their direct impact on development.

The Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Khalihenna Ould Errachid, met Tuesday, November 27, 2018, with Roger Nkodo Dang, Speaker of the Pan-African Parliament, who is on a working visit November 26 through 29 in the Kingdom.

Morocco remains "open and optimistic" about the future of relations with Algeria and reiterates its request to the Algerian authorities to make known, officially, their reaction towards the Royal Initiative for the establishment of a bilateral political mechanism for dialogue and consultation, says a statement by the ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) adopted, Wednesday in Brussels, by a large majority, the agricultural agreement between Morocco and the European Union.
