The Moroccan autonomy initiative in the Sahara is the only "credible" and "salutary" outcome for peace and stability in the region, said Friday Comoros Foreign Minister, Dhoihir Dhoulkamal.

Minister of National Territorial Planning, Housing and City Policy Nouzha Bouchareb announced Monday in Laâyoune that her department is determined to rebalance its interventions in 2021 to give priority in its programs to the Southern Provinces.

Participants in the Ministerial Conference in Support of the Autonomy Initiative under Morocco's Sovereignty, held virtually on Friday, stressed that the broad international support for the Moroccan autonomy initiative paves the way for a new era of peace and prosperity for the entire region.

Head of Government, Saad Eddine El Othmani, underlined on Thursday that Morocco has made important strategic achievements in its southern provinces.

The autonomy proposal presented by Morocco remains the "most realistic solution" to the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, according to Götz Schmidt-Bremme, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Rabat.
