In his annual report to the members of the Security Council on the Moroccan Sahara, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres reported the opening, on August 14, of Chad's Consulate General of Chad, the 29th of its kind in the Kingdom's southern provinces, which represents about 42% of the share of African countries.

UN Chief Reaffirms Algeria's Role as Main Party in Dispute over Moroccan Sahara
In his annual report to the Security Council on the Moroccan Sahara, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres recalled the statement of the Algerian ministry of Foreign Affairs of July 25, expressing its "deep disapproval" following France's decision in support of Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara, which the Algerian side described as "unexpected, inopportune and counterproductive".

Morocco Not Negotiating About Sahara, But About Regional Conflict with Neighboring Country - FM
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, stressed, on Monday in Rabat, that Morocco, as affirmed by HM King Mohammed VI, is not negotiating about its Sahara, nor its sovereignty over this region, or even less about its national unity, but rather about a regional conflict with a neighboring country.
