Saudi Arabia reiterated Tuesday in New York, its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Morocco, highlighting the Kingdom's efforts to find a political and realistic solution to the Moroccan Sahara question.

The UN Security Council (UNSC) held in the middle of this week closed-door consultations on the Moroccan Sahara issue, during which the Council members were briefed by Martha Pobee, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Africa in the Departments of Political Affairs and Peace Operations, and Alexander Ivanko, UN Secretary General's Personal Representative and Head of MINURSO.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita met, Tuesday by videoconference, with minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and International Cooperation of the Republic of Suriname, Albert Ramdin.

Algeria as "the real party responsible for the creation and maintenance of the artificial regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara issue is called upon to fully engage in the process of round tables in a spirit of realism and compromise", said Monday in Belgrade the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Morocco to the United Nations, Omar Hilale.
