Morocco's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Omar Hilale sent a letter to the President and members of the UN Security Council, in which he denounces a biased paragraph on the Moroccan Sahara in its latest report to the General Assembly.

The United Kingdom “considers Morocco’s autonomy proposal, submitted in 2007 as the most credible, viable and pragmatic basis for a lasting resolution of the dispute” over the Moroccan Sahara, and “will continue to act bilaterally, including economically, regionally and internationally in line with this position to support resolution of the conflict”.

Côte d'Ivoire has reiterated its “full support” for Morocco's autonomy initiative for the final resolution of the regional dispute over the Sahara, on the occasion of the regional seminar of the C 24, held in Dili, East Timor (May 21-23).

The Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, reaffirmed on Wednesday in Rabat the Arab Republic of Egypt’s commitment to the positions and principles contained in the Joint Communiqué of May 10, 2022, issued following the visit to Morocco by the former Egyptian Foreign Minister.

As part of the visit of the Moroccan technical delegation tasked with preparing the reopening of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Damascus, a joint mission comprising Moroccan officials and Syrian senior officials paid a field visit to ascertain the effective closure of the office of the “Polisario” separatists in the Syrian capital.
